As an Indian I am not surprised how Sen
after having “arrived” in Europe and winning the white man’s accolades behaves no differently from the usual NRIs- least interested in his civic sensibilities and his refusal to engage and think about why west was progressing.
The Japanese and recently the Chinese experts (post Deng ) did much to educate their country men on these aspects.
Sen seems to only loved to bask in the glow of the west. Also it’s true - his writing is unnecessarily obstruce and dense !
