I'm an American living in Europe, and while I understand the sentiment, my spouse and I still must pay taxes and keep the American government aware of all our accounts and financial business. So, we still vote as it is in our interest even though we don't live there. Many expatriates are above average earners, so I doubt the government will allow them freedom from taxes.
We won't give up our citizenship in case we ever want to move back. Very annoying situation.
