Bevins did well in so many ways, I agree, but concur as well on how he missed the boat on the 1965 coup in particular, failing to read and follow up on Tarzie Vittachi's "The Fall of Sukarno" (1967), which insightfully lays out what happened and points to the source of today's corrupt power elite.
